Maria Foster (NMLS#698684) has been a Residential Loan Officer since 1996. Prior to this role, she gained extensive experience across various aspects of the mortgage industry, including Receptionist, Processor, Underwriting Department, Closing Department, and Processing Manager.
Her expertise in the field stems from hands-on experience and continuous education to obtain necessary certifications. Maria believes that the Mortgage/Real Estate career is best learned through practical experience rather than academic theory. Despite the challenges posed by the mortgage meltdown of 2008, she remained steadfast in her commitment to the profession.
Throughout her career, Maria has assisted thousands of clients, ranging from first-time buyers to seasoned investors. She specializes in a wide range of residential financing options, including First-time buyer programs, VA, FHA, Conventional, USDA, Renovation, Refinances, and Investor loans. Additionally, she has successfully navigated uniquely challenging transactions referred to her by other lenders and real estate professionals.
Recognizing the importance of thoroughness and communication, Maria emphasizes the need for careful planning and upfront communication to prevent last-minute issues. She values collaboration with real estate professionals and prioritizes accessibility during both typical and non-traditional business hours.
Maria views her Mortgage career as providing the perfect balance between professional fulfillment and personal life. Married with two adult sons, a daughter, and a beloved dog, she cherishes her role as a parent while maintaining a successful career. Outside of work, Maria is actively involved with the Salvation Army, dedicating several hours per week to caring for intellectually disabled adults.
She is a self-directed learner and enjoys activities such as reading, writing, exploring math books, walking, jogging, swimming, skiing, playing pickleball, and bike riding. Notably, in 2017, Maria and her sons embarked on a bicycle journey from Washington DC to Dewey Beach Delaware to support Autism Speaks. In her youth, she undertook a similar endeavor, riding her bicycle from Los Angeles, California to Washington DC while volunteering for Habitat for Humanity along the way.
Currently, Maria and her husband reside close to the ocean and bay, adjacent to her elderly father’s home, where they cherish spending quality time with family.
